Mr. Howard Mishkind, Attorney

Howard D. Mishkind is the President of the Mishkind Law Firm Co. L.P.A. He has 31 years experience as a trial attorney representing the interests of seriously injured citizens in Ohio. He has represented patients and their families in catastrophic personal injury cases throughout Ohio. He has a vast amount of experience in handling medical negligence cases from birth injury/birth trauma cases to nursing home cases to wrongful death claims. He has extensive experience in the trial of complex litigation where he has achieved multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements for victims of medical, hospital and nursing negligence and their loved ones. He is a member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), the Ohio Association for Justice OAJ), the Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys (CATA), the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA), and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association (CMBA) He is also a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, an elite group of lawyers in the United States that have successfully litigated catastrophic claims involving verdicts and settlements well in excess of a million dollars. He has handled birth injury, birth trauma and other obstetrical claims, including shoulder dystocia and brachial plexus claims related to mismanagement of vaginal deliveries and has also handled catastrophic injury claims and deaths caused by childhood vaccinations. He is a former adjunct professor at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law where he taught a course on medical malpractice. Mr. David A. Kulwicki, Attorney

David A. Kulwicki has been a trial lawyer for 23 years. He graduated from the University of Texas-Austin with honors in economics and from the Ohio State University School of Law with his juris doctor. Mr. Kulwicki is former Chairman of the Medical Negligence Section of the Ohio Academy of Justice (OAJ), former Chairman of OAJ's Constitutional Review Committee and on the Board of Directors for the Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys. He has lectured and written on various topics related to personal injury and medical litigation. Mr. Kulwicki practices primarily in the area of medical negligence. Nurse Legal Consultants

Leslie Klausner

Leslie Klausner is an employee of Mishkind Law Firm Co. L.P.A. where she works as a nurse legal assistant/paralegal. She has a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Kent State University and has clinical experience as a staff nurse delivering care to patients receiving Medical-Surgical, Cardiac and Oncologies care at Massachusetts General Hospital and Beth Israel Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. She also was a staff nurse in the Emergency Department of Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio where she delivered acute care to both adult and pediatric patients.

Prior to joining the medical-legal team of Mishkind Law, Ms. Klausner operated her own medical-legal consulting firm since 1981 where she provided a wide range of support services for attorneys who handled personal injury and medical malpractice claims. She has extensive experience in evaluating medical care provided to patients and assisting the attorney in determining whether the outcome was preventable, avoidable and unnecessary. Ms. Klausner has 29 years of experience in analyzing medical records and medical claims to determine whether there is merit to the claim. Her experience spans the entire spectrum of medical claims and she has literally reviewed claims and assisted attorneys in representing injured parties involving every medical specialty from birth injury cases to nursing home claims. She has a network of physicians and nursing experts that she has worked with over the years that makes her uniquely qualified to professionally and efficiently determine whether a case has sufficient merit to pursue.

Leslie's vast experience and knowledge, attention to detail, ability to perform in-depth research of medical-legal issues, as well as her strong interpersonal skills in working closely with clients and their families has been a valued asset to our firm. Many clients have commented that Leslie's care, patience, and concern have helped them get through very stressful situations and that they have gained a much better understanding of their medical issues after discussing them with Leslie.
